Malaysia is a beautifully diverse country, with a rich geography and culture which has a wealth of benefits to offer anybody wanting to move abroad. Malaysia is the 67th largest country in the world by area (329,847 km2, and has the 42nd highest population, housing around 30 million people.
Malaysia’s capital city is Kuala Lumpur which is home to the legislative branch of the Malaysian Federal Government and is the most populous city in the country. It is not, however, Malaysia’s largest city. Putrajaya is larger and serves as the primary seat of the Federal Government and it is here that the executive and judicial branches are located, not in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia is a country lying in the heart of the Indian Ocean, with quite a complex geography. It is located on the Malay Peninsula, sharing borders with Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei. The country is made up of two land masses, East Malaysia and West Malaysia, which are separated by the South China Sea. Malaysia as a whole consists of thirteen states and three federal territories. 11 states and 2 territories can be found on the Malay Peninsula, in West Malaysia, and the remaining 2 states are located in East Malaysia on the island of Borneo. The other federal territory comprises islands just off the coast of Borneo. The federal territories are called Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya, and the states are named Johor, Jedah, Kelantan, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Terengganu.
